This time around, we’ve caught up with our customer Tracy, to hear more about her cat, Mitsy, and what led to her having to make a claim.
Background:
Mitsy is 18 years’ old. We’ve got her and her sister, Thea. They’re both doing really well, we’ve had them since they were about 10-12 weeks old.
We’ve always had cats, my husband and I have been married for 41 years, and we’ve always had a cat. To me the house isn’t a home without a cat.
What’s your cat’s personality like and what are her favourite things to do?
They’re pretty much house cats at their age, they only go out to go to the toilet and then come back in again, they do a lot of sleeping now.
My grandchildren really do love them. I’ve got a son and a daughter, my daughter has cats herself, and her two children absolutely adore cats. My son’s little girl, they’ve got a dog but, she absolutely loves the cat as well.
Choosing pet insurance:
When we first had pets, we didn’t have pet insurance. Unfortunately, one of my cats got knocked over by a car and although he survived, he had lots and lots of problems and we didn’t have insurance for him. We ended up spending a lot of money. Afterwards we said with our next cats we will definitely get pet insurance.
How did you come to choose The Insurance Emporium?

I had insurance with another provider but was unhappy with the renewal*. I did some research online and then found The Insurance Emporium.
Tracy’s experience with The Insurance Emporium:
Mitsy’s got arthritis, and she’d been on tablets from the vets for about 18 months, however she got progressively worse with her age, she was really hobbling along and the vet recommended an injection which has worked wonders. They are quite expensive so I thought I’d enquire to see if I could claim for them.
How did you find the claims process?
I know you get your policy paperwork that comes through on the portal about what you can claim for but sometimes it’s easier just to make a quick phone call and speak to somebody, speaking to the team at The Insurance Emporium, they’ve always been so helpful.
When speaking to staff, how did you find this experience?
When I phoned The Insurance Emporium the lady I spoke to was so helpful. Because I didn’t know whether I could claim or not, she explained everything to me. I’ve had to make claims for Thea as well, she’s got thyroid problems and again when I phoned up and spoke to one of the staff again, she couldn’t be more helpful.
I’ve only good things to say about The Insurance Emporium.
