Here at The Insurance Emporium our aim is to protect the things that are important to you. Your passions are our passions, whether that’s horses, pets, caravans, photography, golf, cycling or fishing, we know how much these things matter – because they matter to us too and we want you to go out and enjoy these things, with our help.
With this in mind, we launched our ‘Good Things Happen’ awards so that we can celebrate the things that shape our lives and memories.
WINNERS
The winners were announced on our social media channels on 31st July 2026. They received a certificate and a The Insurance Emporium goody bag.
Best Charitable Initiative – Gelli Life For Living
The winner was Gelli Life for Living, a wonderful charity that provides companionship for both carers and those they care for.
Most Talented Pet / Best Trick – Star
The winner was Star (also known as Star Wars), whose owner shared the following poem:
Star the collie pup was zooming through the day,
When oops - his little front claw went and snapped away.
But off to Vets he trotted, wagging like a pro,
Where kind vets patched him up and told him, “Steady, mate - go slow.”
They wrapped a special bandage on his fluffy puppy paw,
Which he thanked them for immediately… with kisses by the score.
He’s healing like a hero, though he milks the drama hard -
We’re thinking “Star Wars” suits him now, a Jedi in the yard.

The winner was Kathryn Teri Goddard, who ventured into the heart of the Sinai Desert in the middle of May and captured a peaceful moment between two boys and their camel.
Most Talented Horse – Dundee
The winner was Dundee, a Welsh Section C stallion who helped his owner, Olivia, through the heartbreak of losing her heart horse last August. More recently, the pair placed 12th at the BD Nationals – an incredible achievement, especially for a Welsh pony.
Best Sporting Achievement – Wheelchair Sport
The winner was Michael O’Neill’s team, who achieved incredible success in wheelchair sport, completing an unbeaten season and securing a fantastic treble. They’re making a real difference by championing disability sport and inspiring more people to get involved.
Best Local Gig Venue – The Baginton Royal British Legion Club
The winner was the Baginton Royal British Legion Club, a much-loved part of the village, always bringing the community together with concerts, food, fêtes and children’s Christmas parties. This award recognises the incredible dedication of the volunteer committee, whose time, passion and commitment keep the club thriving.
Best Wedding Proposal – The Flendersons
The winner was A. Flenderson, whose fiancé, Toby, asked her to marry him in a beautiful proposal that was quiet, heartfelt and absolutely perfect – a wonderful reminder that the best memories are often the simplest.
Best Student Union – Glasgow Kelvin College Student Association
The winner was the Association at GKCSA for creating a genuinely welcoming environment where students from every background can find their place. From peer mental health support and inclusive clubs to LGBTQIA+ resources, free SIM cards, and a food and clothing bank, the Association is dedicated to helping students overcome challenges and thrive, both inside and outside the classroom.
