YOUR ESSENTIAL WEDDING CHECKLIST

It takes some careful planning to ensure your wedding is the most magical day of your life. With so many things to arrange, we at The Insurance Emporium wanted to make preparations as easy as possible. That’s why we’ve put together this helpful wedding checklist for you. Check out our infographic above and read on to find out more.

12 months to go

When you start planning your wedding, the first thing to do is work out how much you and your partner want to spend and who you want to invite. Among those people, you’ll probably know who you want to be your bridesmaids and ushers. Plus, you’ll need to choose a venue and reserve it as soon as possible because popular places can book up fast. If you want a photographer or videographer, it’s worth hiring them around now. Plus, you could consider wedding insurance.

9 months to go

Around the nine month mark, send out your save the date cards to guests. If you have chosen a bridal gown then it is worth ordering it now. Hair and makeup artists for the big day could be enlisted now, if you want them. Also, consider which DJ and what entertainment you want for your wedding and book those people. It’s a good time to hire your caterers and discuss menu options with them too. Plus, with your venue sorted, you can book hotel rooms nearby for your guests.

6 months to go

When your wedding is half a year away, hire a florist and discuss options for your wedding flowers. Choose your cake maker too and talk to them about how your wedding cake is going to look. It’s a good time to order wedding stationery – or make it, if you’re feeling artistic! You might wish to buy wedding accessories and attire for the bridesmaids and ushers around now. Plus, organise your wedding transportation for the day. If you want a honeymoon overseas, get it booked.

3 months to go

If you’re a groom and you want to wear a suit, order it around three months in advance. In fact, arrange any fittings needed for any wedding attire around this time. Now is a good time to get wedding rings bought and resized too. Plus, it’s time to send out your wedding invites and gift list. You’ll also need to order your wedding favours and table décor for the big day.

1 week to go

With the wedding day imminent, it’s time to make those last minute preparations. Have your wedding rehearsal, confirm bookings and times with your suppliers and collect your wedding attire. Get ready for the big day by having your hair done, getting any other beauty treatments you want and breaking in your wedding shoes. If you’re going on your honeymoon straight after then pack in advance. Once everything is sorted, just get ready to enjoy your magical wedding day!

We hope that this checklist helps to ensure you are fully prepared for the most wonderful wedding adventure. As we mentioned early on, wedding insurance might be one thing to consider for peace of mind.
