This time around, we’ve caught up with our customer Jennie, to hear more about her dog, Poppy, and what led to her having to make a claim.
Background:
I’ve had dogs before but a long while ago. When I re-married, my second husband was not a pet lover, however, after he passed away and I retired, I was at last able to have a dog.
I researched online the various breeds and concluded that a Schnauzer would be a good and loving companion for me.
What’s your dog’s personality like and what are her favourite things to do?
Poppy is the ideal pet for me, she loves all people and all dogs, even the aggressive ones. She is quite funny at times, it’s amazing when we are on our daily walk how many people know her name and make a fuss of her. She does not have any nastiness or aggression at all.
Choosing pet insurance:
My previous dog was purchased probably some 40 years ago, and it was unusual at that time to insure them. A lot has changed since then and so it was important for me to do the best for my dog and take out insurance “just in case”.
How did you come to choose The Insurance Emporium?

I chose The Insurance Emporium, years ago, after spending a considerable time online initially and have found that each year although the premiums have increased it still suits my budget.
Jennie’s experience with The Insurance Emporium:
The reason for my claim was because I discovered a lump on her thigh and thought it may be cancerous. The vet tried to take a sample initially to send away for investigation, but the sample wasn’t viable as it contained too much blood. The only solution was to remove the lump completely, meaning Poppy would have to have an operation. Thankfully the lump has proved to be benign. I received a fully itemised list of the proposed operation and then I contacted The Insurance Emporium to ask for a claim form.
How did you find the claims process?
The gentleman I spoke to was so nice and helpful, not only did he inform me when I would receive the claims form, he explained the procedure: how I would be informed if my claim was successful, but also that the sum involved would be credited to my bank account*. I was pleasantly surprised to find that in my case all of this happened so quickly and efficiently. I have already recommended The Insurance Emporium to a number of my dog walking friends.
