Naturally, in our line of work, we often hear from our customers when things go wrong; whether that’s a pet that has had an accident or one that’s become unwell and needs urgent veterinary care. Whatever the reason, our team of insurance specialists are on hand to guide you through the process of making a claim, so that you can focus on your fur baby getting better. Here, we’ve caught up with our customer Brahim, to talk about his pet dog Luigi, after he recently had to make a claim on his pet insurance.
Background
“Luigi is my first pet. My parents kept two budgies, and my mother had a rabbit when I was very young, but this is my first time as a pet owner.
I was out walking one day, and I saw someone walking a very cute dog. After striking up a conversation, I found out the dog was a cavapoo and I obtained the details of the breeder as I totally fell in love with the breed as they are not only very sweet but also incredibly adorable. As I am allergic to most dogs, I was delighted to find out the breed is hypoallergenic, and after about a year, Luigi arrived into my life.
What’s Your Pet’s Personality Like and Favourite Things to do?
Luigi is a very sweet dog. He loves cuddles, to go out on walks and when he does, his nose is in everything. He likes to be either next to me or at least in the same room. He’s playful and enjoys playing tug of war with anything from a dishcloth to a sock. He enjoys chasing anything his size or smaller.
Choosing Pet Insurance:
I take out insurance on anything that I can because disaster can strike at any minute. I know that pet care can be expensive therefore, I only thought it sensible to take out pet insurance, especially as this was my first pet.
How Did You Come to Choosing The Insurance Emporium?
A good friend at work recommended The Insurance Emporium as she explained when her dog was diagnosed with diabetes, she received an excellent service and was recompensed promptly. She sang the praises of The Insurance Emporium so high that it would have been churlish not to have followed suit.
Your Experience with The Insurance Emporium:
When Luigi was three months old, he suddenly became very ill. He was very clearly in pain, couldn’t lie down, lost his appetite, started moving like a senior dog, couldn’t bear to be touched and just cried and howled in distress. He was eventually diagnosed with meningitis and was given a course of steroids. But it took two emergency visits to the vet and vet hospital, and overnight stays to determine this.
How Did You Find the Claims Process?
The claims process was incredibly straightforward. I was given The Insurance Emporium claim form at the vet hospital, and I also had one for my local vet who gave the initial care. I filled out my part on the back of the forms and the rest was filled out at both the vet hospital and my local vet. Very shortly thereafter, I received the email to confirm receipt of the claims and soon after that, my insurance claim was fully paid into my bank account.
When Speaking to Staff, How Did you Find This Experience?
I called The Insurance Emporium after Luigi stabilised to ask how to put in my claim. The lady I spoke to was very sympathetic to Luigi’s plight and was extremely helpful.
Why You’d Recommend The Insurance Emporium
As a first-time pet owner, I was nervous of vet fees should anything go wrong. My worst nightmare was realised when my puppy was struck with meningitis and needed overnight stays as well as medical treatment. However, after filling out the forms, The Insurance Emporium paid my insurance claim straight away without any cross-examination. The vet clinics fill in the forms with the details and costs of the treatment, and send them on your behalf, making the process very straightforward and meant I could concentrate on looking after Luigi. I would recommend The Insurance Emporium to anyone who asks and even to those who don’t.”
As we’ve heard first-hand from Brahim, even the most fit and healthy of animals can suddenly become ill, taking us by surprise and it can be overwhelming.
