Our range of policies give you the ability to pick the cover most suitable, not just for you, but your horse too! The types of policy cover we offer are:

As your horse heads into their senior years, the type of cover that you need is likely to change. Our veteran horse policy offers insurance for any horse over the age of 20 years old.

If you don’t own a horse, but still want protection when you’re riding, we can offer you horse rider cover. We provide Junior policies for riders between 5 and 17 years old and Adult policies for those aged 18 to 75 years old.

Whether you own a horse trailer or horse-drawn vehicle, our Optional Benefits helps to ensure that you have the right policy to suit your needs.

The cost of hiring another horse from a livery or riding establishment if the horse is not found within 28 days or straying or being stolen from the stabling address.

Where your saddlery and tack is stolen or accidentally damaged whilst you are taking part in or preparing for an activity encompassed within your specified type of use.

Unable to perform any equestrian activity; sum insured or market value (if less) if destroyed/60% if retired.

Benefits halved for horses 13+.

Horse/Veteran: Death, total permanent disablement, loss of hearing, sight or limbs as a result of a bodily injury sustained whilst riding, leading, handling or caring for the horse.

Rider: Death, total permanent disablement, loss of hearing, sight or limbs as a result of a bodily injury sustained whilst riding a horse.

Horse/Veteran: Dental treatment following an accidental bodily injury to your mouth and/or teeth as a result of your riding, leading, handling or caring for the horse.

Rider: Dental treatment following an accidental bodily injury to your mouth and/or teeth as a result of your riding a horse.

Death: If the horse dies or is put to sleep on immediate humane grounds as a result of colic.

Vet's Fees: The cost of treatment and or/complimentary treatment of colic for horses aged up to 24 years and 364 days.

The cost of emergency treatment provided up to 24 hours after the horse sustains an external visible accidental injury.

Sum insured or market value (if less); if a horse dies or is put to sleep on immediate humane grounds due to external visible accidental injury sustained whilst you were riding it.

Private tutoring fees for a child aged 15-17 years if they are unable to attend their full-time educational establishment solely as a result of a riding accident.

Irrecoverable entry fees if alternative transportation is not available to convey a horse owned by you or a member of your immediate family to a competition if the trailer is rendered unusable.

Up to 2 friends using the trailer or horse drawn vehicle for social, domestic and pleasure purposes.

Our horse policy offers up to 100% Sum Insured/ Market Value cover as a Standard Benefit. We would cover the Market Value of your horse if it died or was put to sleep on immediate humane grounds, or, if it was not found within 28 days of straying or being stolen from its stabling address. On the veteran horse policy, the cost (up to £2,000) is only covered if the horse dies due to an external visible accidental injury.

You can choose the level of Vet’s Fees cover that is right for you. You can limit it to external visible accidental injury only or you can extend it to cover for injury and illness too:

We cover horses from just 31 days old up to 20 years old. If your horse is over 20 years, you’ll need to check out our veteran horse cover which has no upper age limit.

The maximum value we can insure a horse for is £15,000. Veteran horses can be insured up to £2,000.

Yes. So long as you have selected the Public Liability Optional Benefit.

Yes. We can insure your horse when someone else is riding it. However, you will need to check your Policy Wording for information on how the Public Liability and Personal Accident cover applies to the rider.

If your horse is over 20 years old, you can take out veteran horse cover.

Yes. Our equine insurance allows you to compete. You’ll just need to select the appropriate type of use activities when going through your quotation.

If you’re under 18 you will need to have a parent/guardian take out the policy for you. The policy will comprise of your details and be for your sole use.

An insured rider is required to be between 5 & 75 years old.

No. Only the rider named on the policy is covered. If you want to cover multiple riders, you will need to take out separate policies.

No. There are no age limits, but we do offer a discount for drivers over 30 years old. The driver must hold a valid driving license.

The value of your horse trailer must not exceed £10,000.

No. Only the policy holder is covered. If someone else wishes to tow the hired trailer, they would need to take out separate cover.

A lunar monthly policy runs for, and premiums are collected on, equal periods of 28 days. This type of policy renews every 28 days.

Runs for 365 days from the commencement date and time shown on Your policy schedule; automatically renews annually.
